Ongoing Projects:
Jones County Education Museum
This is an interpretive museum that allows visitors to travel through period depictions of classrooms from pre 1920, 1920-1950, and 1950-1980. Also, there are areas dedicated to athletics, bus transportation, food service, media, and present day facilities.
Holt School Preservation/Restoration
This is an effort that is many years in the making. Holt school is and original one room school house that is located at Holt's Chapel in Jones County. This school holds a great wealth of history for the county. Our wish is to restore this school back to its once great purpose.
Jacob P Hutchings Memorial marker
The dedication of this marker is to honor a great man of Jones County. The dedication will be during the Bicentennial Kickoff Celebration on March 17, 2007.

Jones County History and Heritage (JCHH) is a private, non-profit organization formed in 2002 to promote an appreciation of Jones County's historic resources and foster their preservation, restoration, and revitalization.
We hope that the information that is found on JCHH's website will be helpful and very useful.
